The name John Isaac’s is a tribute to two of the people who made my dream of owning a clothing business a reality. The John comes from my father, whom I am named after, and the Isaac comes from my grandfather. The life lessons that I learned from both my grandfather and my father helped shape who I am today. I am very grateful to both of them. Both my father and grandfather passed away recently and I believe the name to be a fitting tribute to both men.

My name is John Mitchell and I founded John Isaac’s Clothing on the philosophy of providing each customer with high quality clothing that is chosen for your specific lifestyle. I have spent the past two and a half years working at a fine men’s store in Tampa learning the art of custom clothing and of fitting ready-made clothing. Prior to this, I spent many years in managing sales reps and selling to high need individuals. Throughout my sales career I have worked in many fine men’s stores gaining the knowledge and the skills needed to open my own store.

On a personal note, I have been married to my beautiful wife, Marie, for 13 years and we have three wonderful children, Lauren, 11, Zachary, 8, and Matthew, 5.

My journey started with a dream of one day owning a clothing business. As all journeys go, there were some mountains and some valleys but each taught me a valuable piece of information that I would later need when I reached my destination. During my journey, I have experienced inside clothing sales, outside sales of several consumer and business products and sales management. Two years ago, a friend of mine suggested that I come work for his fine men’s store.This was the fates leading my journey towards its destination.

After 16 years of selling and training others to sell, the last component needed was the basics of running a clothing business. My two years in Tampa taught me how to order and what to look for in finer clothing. I also honed my skills of measuring for custom clothing. These were the last of the skills that I could learn from others to help me fulfill my dream. Now the hard part- making it happen.

The first major decision was to decide where to start the business. My family and I have always loved Gainesville and have been Gator fans since my wife and her 6 other brothers and sisters attended UF. The next decision was the name. I came up with John Isaac’s as a tribute to two of the people who helped make my journey possible- my Dad, John, and my Grandfather, Isaac. Without these people I not only wouldn’t have been born but I would not have acquired the childhood lessons that made me who I am today.

While I understand that this account is a bit wordy, I feel it is important for all of my customers to understand who I am.  My ultimate goal with John Isaac’s Clothing is to personally take care of all of my customers clothing needs and to make them look as successful as they are. I want to provide you with great clothing at a fair price and services that will bring value to your life.
